This section covers the various
artists compilation albums that included Quo material that was not originally
available elsewhere.
READING FESTIVAL 1973 (GM GML 1008)
Album which featured various artists recorded 'live' at the 1973
Reading Festival. The album included "Don't Waste My Time" (4:17) by
Quo, recorded on the 25th. August. Andy Bown was also on the album
performing "Long Legged Linda", a song that was later recorded by
Quo. The album was released in February 1974 and was given a limited
edition re-issue, with a new sleeve design, in October 1990. The
catalogue number was MQCLP 001 (compact disc MQCCD 001) on the
Marguee Classic label. It was re-issued again on C.D. in May 1992 on
the See For Miles label (SEE CD 343). In December 2001 "Don't Waste
My Time" was included on the "Rockers Rollin' - Quo In Time
1972-2000" CD set.
ALL THIS AND WORLD WAR II (Riva RVLP 2)
Concept album with various artists performing Beatles' songs, for
the soundtrack of the "All This And World War II" film. Quo
performed the song "Getting Better" (2:19) with additional
orchestral backing. The album was released in November 1976.
"Getting Better" was included on the CD re-issue of the "Rockin' All
Over The World" album in March 2005.
KNEBWORTH THE ALBUM (Polydor 843 921-1)
Double album compilation recorded 'live' at the Nordoff- Robbins
charity concert at Knebworth, on the 30th. June 1990. It included
three Quo songs, "Dirty Water" (4:17), "Whatever You Want" (4:15)
and "Rockin' All Over The World" (4:07). The album and C.D. (843
921-2) were released in August 1990. In March 2010 the CD was
re-issued by Eagle Rock Entertainment (EDGCD410) and in June 2010
the CD was re-issued as part of a CD/DVD set by Eagle Vision
(ERDVCD058). In June 2021 the three 'live' songs were released
as a 12" EP "Live At Knebworth".
1 & ONLY (Band Of Joy BOYCD-25)
Radio 1 25th Anniversary album made up of radio sessions. Quo were
included performing a version of "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" (3:02)
recorded on the 13th. February 1968. The C.D. was released in
September 1992.
AND YOUR BIRD CAN SING (Débutante 535 110-2)
Another album with various artists performing Beatles' songs. Quo's
version of "Getting Better" was included. The C.D. was released in
November 1996.
MIKE BATT'S PHILHARMANIA - THE ROYAL PHILIHARMONIC ORCHESTRA (German
Stella 559 618-2)
Compilation CD which included Quo performing the Rolling Stone 1964
hit single "Not Fade Away" (3:09). The song was later included on
Quo's "Under The Influence" album but without the orchestral
accompaniment. Released in Germany in November 1998.
BENZIN IM BLUT (German Polydor 547 501-2)
This CD release was the official soundtrack to the German TV series
Benzin Im Blut (Petrol In The Blood). The CD included tracks by Quo,
Motherbone and Peter Risavy. The Quo tracks being: Driving To Glory
/ Fighting With The Pack / I Knew The Bride / Sea Cruise / Whatever
You Want (Remix by Das Ministerium) / Don't Drive My Car (Remix by
Das Ministerium) / Pictures Of Matchstick Men (Remix by Julian
Feifel) / Mystery Song (Remix by Frankie Chinasky). "Fighting With
The Pack" (4:31) and the re-mixed versions of "Whatever You Want",
"Don't Drive My Car", "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" and "Mystery
Song" were at the time of the release exclusive to this CD. Released
in Germany in May 1999.
THE NIGHT OF THE PROMS – VOL 6 1999 (German BMG 74321 70562 2)
Various artists 'live' compilation CD recorded in November
1999 and released in Germany in
December 1999. The CD included the introduction to Quo's
performance, "Whatever You Want" (5:45) and "Twenty Wild Horses" (4:51).
"Whatever You Want" was also included on "The Best Of The Night Of
The Proms" CD (German BMG 1994 1) released in October 2002.
In April 2011 "Twenty Wild Horses" was included on the German "Under
The Influence" CD.
RIOT OF THE AMPHETAMINE GENERATION (Dig The Fuzz Records DIG 048)
Various artists compilation LP released in August 2003. The album
included the previously unissued Spectres' demos "Love In Vain" 2:24
(written by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster) and "Say That You Need
Me" 2:25 (written by Roy Lynes) from January 1966. The album was
limited to 400 copies.
40th ANNIVERSARY SOUVENIR (Trinity Mirror DMSQCD01 & SMSQCD01)
Double CD set with the first CD being published with The Mirror
newspaper on the 24th. September 2005. This included the Quo 'live'
tracks "Rockin' All Over The World" 3:58, "Whatever You Want" 5:09,
"Break The Rules" 2:33 and "Roll Over Lay Down" 5:46. The second CD
was published with the Sunday Mirror newspaper on the 25th.
September 2005. This included the Quo 'live' tracks "Down Down"
5:45, "Caroline" 5:39, "Something 'Bout You Baby I Like" 2:12 and
"Rain" 4:43. Both CDs also included a medley of tracks from the new
album under the title of "The Party Ain't Over Yet...Album Medley"
("The Party Ain't Over Yet...", "All That Counts Is Love", "Gotta
Get Up And Go", "Belavista Man", "The Bubble" and "Goodbye Baby")
5:47. The 'live' recordings were from the band's concert in
Liverpool on the 23rd. July 2005.
LIVE AT CORNBURY 2011 (EMI CDLHN90)
Double CD set various artists compilation recorded at the
Cornbury Festival. The release included Quo performing

Dustpipe-Little Lady-Red Sky-Dear John-Big Fat Mama (10:57) recorded on the 3rd. July 2011. Released
in July 2011.
THE BEST OF LECHLADE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2015 (Lechdale Music Festival
2015)
Various artists 'live' compilation CD recorded at the Lechlade Music
Festival on the 24th. May 2015. The CD included "Caroline" (5:52).
Released in July 2015.
